I liked how they were very flexible with giving us breaks and with working around our conflicts. I also like how the unit directors would talk directly to parents about any issues, rather than having to deal with parents ourselves which could be overwhelming. I also liked how the hours weren't too long and they let us choose which age group we preferred to work in. the wage salary was also very nice for me.
What I wish was different
I often got heat exhaustion since we were outside nearly all day. I think if I did it again I would have liked to be in the specialty camps which are inside more often. It's just draining mentally and physically so it makes it hard to sufficiently do my job sometimes. It was also sometimes hard to know how to deal with the campers in certain situations.
Advice
It takes a lot of patience to do this job and can often be very frustrating and draining- so make sure you get plenty of rest, bring lots of water, and if you hate or have no idea how to work with kids then this job isn't for you.

What I liked
I liked being able to work with kids and teach them a bit.
What I wish was different
I wish that camp ran normally this past summer, but it wasn't possible due to COVID.
Advice
While teaching kids new things, it's also important to be open to their experiences and learn new things from them.
