In 1980, Capital Equipment’s unique way of doing business began when Gary Holt started selling used equipment in the tri-county Michigan area. The current location at 12263 US 27 Dewitt, MI was purchased in January, 1984 and a highly successful family-owned company was born.
A new and exciting opportunity came to Capital Equipment in 1989 when Kubota tractors and construction equipment lines were added to the existing product line. Kevin Holt, son of Gary and Andrea Holt, had always worked in the business as he was growing up. He started doing odd jobs when he was a teenager and increased his responsibilities as he completed high school and college. He wanted to learn more about business from the corporate area, so after earning a college degree worked in Indianapolis, Indiana for 7 years gaining additional knowledge and business experience. In 2005, he felt he could apply many principles learned and moved to Michigan and began his new position with Capital Equipment. To strengthen Capital Equipment and to expand it’s customer base in the mid-Michigan area, Capital Equipment purchased Kubota Central of Clare in 2007. The name changed to Capital Equipment Clare and our commitment to our customers now and future generations continues. We ask for your continued business and aim to give the best service available. In 2013 Capital Equipment expanded again, this time in Ionia Michigan. Now with 3 locations Capital Equipment can cover the equipment needs of all of its customers in the Mid Michigan area.
