I was familiar with the setting and the people that I was working with. I really enjoy this position, along with working with children with disabilities.
What I wish was different
The admin part of the job and the way the handled the hiring and pay throughout the summer.
Advice
Be open to new things and always be ready for something new or different to happen everyday.

Special Education Paraprofessional

What I liked
I was able to broaden my education and experience through being a paraprofessional and I really enjoy hanging out and being with these kids so it did not seem like I was working all day, but rather just hanging out with friends.
What I wish was different
I wish it was longer than just a summer job, but I know that is where is my career is headed and I'm more than excited to be in the field.
Advice
One piece of advice I have is to be open minded and very patient. I had a lot of experiences that were very much new for me and sometimes emotional or frustrating but I always was reminded by my kids to let the little things go.
