Operating Room Materials Coordinator

March 2015 • Wichita, KS

What I liked

I love everything about my job. I liked that the courses I took at WSU directly related to my job and I was able to improve existing skills and learn new ones through working and going to school.

What I wish was different

I wish more 8 week summer courses were offered staggered throughout the summer.

Advice

Work while you’re in school. In a relevant field. It’s difficult, but even just a part time job or volunteering regularly will help you more than you think.

Administrative Intern

April 2020 • Idaho Falls, ID

What I liked

I honestly believe this internship is an unparalleled opportunity for individuals interested in becoming healthcare leaders. The exposure, trust, and responsibility that was given to each of the interns was incredible. We had access to most areas of the hospital, meaningful projects, scheduled training events, and the ability to shadow/interview any part of the hospital. If you are pursuing a career in healthcare management, you wont find a better undergraduate experience anywhere!

What I wish was different

Advice

You gain from this internship what you put in. Over promise and underdeliver, look for additional ways to help outside of your assigned responsibilities, show your gratitude, and ask lots of questions!
